Richard's career in retail financial services began in 1990 taking up sales support duties with a national IFA based in Leeds city centre. Having taken the sale support role to a managerial level Richard then decided to focus his career on the more technical aspects of financial services.
Determined to develop his technical knowledge Richard joined PFPG (then IFP) in 1998 taking a position in the rapidly expanding technical division. Working alongside the company's technical director Richard found the role a steep learning curve. After a period of intense study Richard passed his Advanced Financial Planning certificate choosing to concentrate on the high profile areas of pensions and investment planning.
Looking to develop his career Richard has moved into the consultant role, advising on financial planning matters including investment management and retirement solutions.
Married with two young children, Richard finds spare time a precious commodity, but whenever possible he takes an interest in the fortunes of Leeds Rhinos.
