- Moving costs and any storage costs. Don’t forget to arrange phone and utility connections too.
- Fittings and furnishings. Some may come with the house, others not.
- A Home Information Pack – if you are selling.
- Council tax when you move in. Is the new home in the same band and rating authority as your old one? For more details, see here.
- Contingencies. One recent survey showed that many new home owners had to spend money on their heating or plumbing system in their first year. Ideally, have a contingency fund to cover such unexpected costs.
